Thought I'd kick this one back to the top. Steve I heard from Tuell's school in New Mexico finally earlier today. The attached are the bits they sent me. He was sent to Hamilton in February 42 so that would seem to have him away from anything Midway related.

Thanks Dan, that's great research and a real help. I don't know if Swanson is still with us, but if so I'll be interested to see if he's involved in the upcoming 75th anniversary of Midway. I know that there are still organizations - in my opinion they should know better - willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
