Australian B 17 Buried in Brisbane or elsewhere

Does anyone know if anyone has ever searched for B 17's buried in Australia or tried to dig them up??
Or know of any other B 17 wrecks on New Guenia not Black Cat pass or Guadalcanal or any other B 17 wrecks in the pacific?

Plenty of B-17 wrecks in the Pacific - most however are in the sea

There was a women who documented all the B-17 / B-24 wrecks about 20 years ago - I am sure Steve know who she was.

I think you mean the late Janice Olson. She was the one who visited and identified the wreckage of 41-24552, Listen Here, Tojo!, in 1992. The B-17 had flown into a cloud-covered mountain peak on 15 September 1943. The remains of Lt Howard G. Eberly and his crew were recovered and identified the following year.
