terveurn, do you have a match for L1 at MacDill or Drew?
One more; no cheek guns, might pull a partial serial from the data block with a high-res scan plus the tail code from the one in the background:

My best guess is that the top one is 42-102722 judging from the tiny bit of that last digit sticking out by the airman's torso. It's in the middle of a substantial batch of trainers/survivors that were scrapped here in the CONUS.

42-102722 has been IDed as D-U1 at Drew; of course this might have been taken earlier at MacDill.

Pretty sure not Drew AAF.
Drew AAF has the Tail ID letter / numbers repeated on the nose.
MacDill also had the Tail ID repeated on the nose as well.
That leave two possibles, Avon Park or Gulfport.
Now if the hidden number is 2 (ie 42-10272 ??) there is a only one in that batch from Avon Park that is unidentified
42-102724
Ran the second photo through photoshop and the engine cowlings come back as red.... Now if this is the same Aircraft as in photo 1, then this is definitely Avon Park (Gulfport used Green cowlings for the 1st Squadron).

The aircraft landing in the second photo the tail ID looks to be either X1 or X3
A-X1 is 42-97874
