Liberty Belle / After Pictures
Wish things were better than they look... .
Wreckage near Palwaukee Airport.
Right wing - More damage to the outer wing panel than I would have thought from the other pictures.
Nose section. Ugg.
Number 2 - Looking good!

Has it been determined why the fire started?
Re: Liberty Belle / After Pictures
There are no words to describe this terrible tragedy , but thank heavens no one was hurt.

To be accurate, there was one person hurt, although not badly.
He hit his head exiting the aircraft, and required stitches.
And I have not heard any definitive reason as to why the fire started.

EAA's Aluminum Overcast flew in to my town for a couple of days this week and I stopped by. I heard a mechanic say that there was a persistent fuel leak they were working on and they thought it had been fixed...

Oh well, I guess if the EAA mechanic said it, it must be true.
I haven't heard anything definitive either.
