The military acceptance data plate from Paul Tibbets, combat flown, B-17F "Red Gremlin" is for sale on eBay, auction ending 02 Feb. at 0928.

For any of those that are interested, the final outcome of the eBay auction for this grouping was $2,326.99. :shock:

No one will ever convince me that the economy is doing poorly when people have this kind of money to spend on something like this. :oops: :roll:

Just got an email from the seller, It says the buyer is donating it to the airforce museum. Too bad it wont go on an airplane now.

And what is the Air Force Museum going to do with it?

Probably stick it in a filing cabinet and forget about it, that is until someone comes across it and sticks it in their pocket.

An interesting development has occured, in that the high bidder has failed to make payment and it is now being offered at half the price.

This could also just be a scam.

It was indeed a scam, I was the 2nd high bidder and got the same e-mail. I hope no one got taken!
