Yes hardware is going to be expensive to replace. Luckily we have a replacement ball turret although it does need a few parts. No luck yet with making contact with Albert Stix whom we are told has quite the stash of turret parts. If anyone out there has any parts or knows where some may be please pm me.

The guys in savannah have some glass molds for the aft end of the late model tail turret.We used those molds to make the skins and ball portion for their chyenne.

On Friday June 7th, Tom Wilson along with his side kick Will arrived at the Bomber Complex in Milwaukie OR. We have enlisted the talents of Tom Wilson to rebuild our badly damaged tail turret. Tom will also be working on the roof of our cockpit. We crated up the parts and sent them back to Georgia with Tom. This is one more step towards getting the Lacey Lady airborne again. We are very thankful that Tom and Will made the long trek. Here are some pics of us working late on Friday night getting the parts packed up. Tom had to take the cockpit roof apart a little more in order to get in in the crate with the tail turret. Nothing like drilling out rivets in the parking lot of the bomber restaurant. Also here is some more pics of the Lacey Lady. The view of the Lacey lady up on the pylons will soon be a distant memory. As previously mentioned in an earlier post, she is coming down this year.

Also we have changed the name of our organization. Our new name is B-17 Alliance. Our previous name was the Wings Of Freedom but it was too confusing with the Collings Foundation bomber tour which has the same name, so we elected to change our name.

Good news!!! Today we started pulling propellers off the engines, thanks to Paul Bazeley and his volunteer group from Aero Metal International. This was a test to see how difficult at task it would be and fortunately it came apart relatively easy. Next time we will pull the other 3.

This is one of the new bomb bay parts were are having made. This is the catwalk truss. Ray Moore is doing the work and it is looking good
