Do you know the real designation for the Heinkel "He 113"?

ANOTHER new film: Flying Fortress

Post by pokryshkin »

Dear Scott,,
I just awhile ago finished watching the DVD I'd made from TCM's broadcast of "Flying Fortress" earlier this year or late last year.

The aircraft used are RAF 90 Sqdn Fortress Is. I identified WP-F/AN530, ex-USAAC S/N 40-2066, and WP-M AN536, ex-USAAC S/N 40-2060, in the ground scenes "RAF Base", with WP-B AN518, ex-USAAC S/N 40-2043, added to the take-off scenes..

The ferry flight films are live, any formation shots of 3 aircraft are live, the large formation shots, and the battle shots are all models - this is when they thought the Heinkel 100, alias He 113, was actually in service. They called them "Snappers".

Regards,
Dan K.
