... The Royal Navy rescue aircraft is actually a prewar American O-47 observation plane.
The same plane later was used in "Flight of the Phoenix" (1965) as a last minute replacement for the original "Phoenix" that crashed while filming.

It was never a Tallmantz aircraft. It was The Air Museum (Planes of Fame).
