A broken Fort

Snagged this one recently. No ID on it other than it was taken at a 9th AF base on the continent in late 44. Not sure why all the glass is broken out of it. Thought it was interesting nonetheless.

Should be a 487th Aircraft. Nose turret is squadron color.

Looks like its been parked ready for scrapping.I find it strange that engines and props are still in place.
