Sorry for the late notice on these.

There are several more images of each; per Osborne '275 spent its short career with the 8th AF, then to ATC in '47, and to Dhahran in '48. AAIR lists two accidents while it was there; the second was Category 4 (Killed, Bail-out, Weather) thirty miles east of the base on June 15, 1948. '279 was assigned to Germany at Oberpfaffenhaufen in February of '48 and was salvaged a month later. Before that happened, however, on August 3, 1947 it was parked at Dharan when it suffered Category 2 damage after being run into by... 43-39275. :?

I think there are more then 2 B-17's at this time - definitely three, but possibly 4. the B-17 with the SHAEF insignia has antenna's that do not match the other two stripped B-17's

partial serial for the third leads to 44-6559

No - the Casey Jones 305 & 306th B-17 pretty much retained their war time markings (Triangle G and Triangle H respectfully).

There also would be a two digit fleet number on the nose for the Casey Jones ships stationed at Istress
