Mini-B-25 Update

Post by aerovin2 »

Just did a correction to the June 2009 update and a mini June Point Five update for the B-25 News. Photos, a few things. Check it out. I'm not adding the link here because you're going to have to want this update. I can't make it too easy. And buy a book!

Thanks mate for the update! But I think the update needs an update... :D

1 F-AZID wasn't on display in Belgium, but in France. The beautiful airfield of La Ferté Alais is just South of Paris (no, not TX...)

2 the link with F-AZID brings us to your great site  and I expected to get to the site where details of F-AZID dan be found...

Keep smiling!

Hmmm... France and not Belgium. So much for my stab at geography. I'll try and correct the correction.....

And the link also....

Bad day.

Thanks Scott.

You're right to be worried when stating
"I must admit that the B-25 locator page is seriously out of date. Help to those who know things...tell me and I will correct and update the page. Thank you very much. "

The picture of 45-8811 made at La Ferté Alais indicates the registration F-AZID while the register claims her as F-AZZU. Time will tell...

And La Ferté is in France, S of Paris.

Keep up doing this great job, Scott!
Kind regards,

C

B-25 Stuff

Post by albro47n »

Good evening Scott, Tom, Don, et al..... I just wanted to add a quick correction or omission to the B-25 update. There are two B-25's at Camarillo, or actually one B-25J (Executive Sweet) and one PBJ-1J (Semper Fi). Executive Sweet is (unfortunately) not a CAF aircraft, but does indeed sit to the side of the CAF hangars. The PBJ-1J inside the hangar is the CAF bird, which is the former "Big Ol' Brew". The research dept within the Southern California Wing traced back the history of this bird and she is indeed a true to life PBJ...... not a wanna-be. I looked at your records Scott and you guys have a match! She is still a few years from flying but getting much, much, closer. There are updates on WIX in the maintenance hanger and also at the So-Cal Wing website here:
www.cafsocal.com/PBJ_Restoration. Great web site here..... Long time lurker! Thanks for letting me post.... I think that you already knew all of this stuff, but again, thanks for letting me tap the keys..... Alan Brooks

While I believe Devil Dog may be a PBwannabe I am happy for her CAF Sqdn. in that she has been flown home to Georgetown and is no longer at Midland... Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with Midland (to borrow a line from Seinfeld...

Hooooah!
