Piccadilly Lily nose art decal

Post by farcwarts »

I am building a 1/18 scale B-17 that will be in the colors of the Piccadilly Lily as it appeared in the movie Twelve O Clock High. Does anyone have a straight on photo view of the pin up nose art that would be suitable to make into a decal? The pin up was the same one used in the TV show as well. The only photos of the lady I can find on the internet are at angles and this would not work for creating a decal. Thanks.

B-17 build up

Unfortunately, I am not very far along so far. I am building the EAM kit and putting way too much detail into the fiberglass fuselage for a plane that I am hoping to fly at some point. I do plan on eventually taking photos of the kit as it nears completion but for now, it just has too far to go. I have designed a decal for the nose art but it is much too detailed compared to the rather plain nose art pin up used in the movie and tv show. I am hoping that someone has a photo of the Piccadilly Lily that was taken from a straight on view so that I can customize a decal. I should be ready to paint the fuselage section by this Spring if I can stay motivated.

That aircraft is at the Planes of Fame museum, Chino CA.. You can probably find some pictures on their website.
