Good stuff Scott, although I was disappointed to see you say Mary Ann has never been identified by serial number. We worked hard to confirm that number. Do you now question that we got it right?

Good stuff indeed. Who knew that so much information on the Israeli B-17s even existed? Add that book to Jan Forsgren's Swedish Fortresses and Robert Stitt's Boeing B-17 Fortress in RAF Coastal Command Service and you have a very nice trifecta.

You are correct, it has been identified as B-17B 38-584; I was hedging my bets a bit because we don't have a clear photo of such but what was derived on the forum site is actually pretty definitive. I'll adjust what I wrote...make it better.
