Station 3 stretch form die

Post by hang the expense »

Just to let those who care know that the frame 3 top stretch die is finished. This was very time consuming because of the complexity due to the double flange angles change in degrees from 89 degrees at 12 o'clock to 85 degrees at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions. Sufice to say that new station 3 tops will be available soon. Next "RATKILLIN" will be frame 8 ,9 and 10. 8)

Is this for "Desert Rat?" If so do you have any updates or pictures to share?

Thanks!

Thats good news for Urbana, now we can get started on locating the cockpit top on the forward fuselage. I'll be coming out of Alaska the end of August so looks like something to do when I get back to Urbana.
Mike, I just returned from a trip out to Dutch Harbor, no B 17s in that part. What is still laying around in the Aleutians in the way of war relics are off limits and closely guarded by the Parks Service and off limits.

I remember a time when you could get stuff out of alaska.Part by part. One complete(airframe only) P-40K-5 came out by c-47.Yes with the trailing edge of the wing cut off. 8)
