Here are a few more photos. Been drilling holes in the uprights and started welding the brackets on and after 8 hours I have two uprights standing.

Have all of the upright`s up now and I will be working on the bracket`s that hold the longeron`s and the carrythrought`s

To the untrained eye this look`s like a pile of aluminum but thanks to Bill Stanczak and Mike Kellner this is the start of the forward fuselage of my B17

What an ambitious and exciting project.

I bet you will finish your full sized B-17 before I ever get around to building my 1/48 scale Monogram kit...

I have some of the bracket`s that hold the longeron`s in place welded on.

If anyone is having trouble picturing where the B-17 goes on
this jig, here is a hint:

In Lucky13's latest picture from 8/13
The uprights closest to you would help
support Bulkhead #4. The next set would be
for Bulkhead #5, and the far set would
be for Bulkhead #6.

Been working on some more of the longeron`s bracket`s in the radio room and placed the two upper longeron`s to show how they would fit

Looking really first rate Lucky.I have the front frames you will need to start hanging the longerons to.The flight deck will be one very involved assy. to be sure.

The jigs look first rate! But the question I have is how the frames are going to be kept in alignment during construction. What I'm trying to say is how are the frame going to be kept perpendicular to the fuselage centerline and also centered on the fuselage centerline? I've seen lots of projects in jigs (fixtures) but never clues about frame alignment. Could someone expand on this?
